Human trafficking is often seen as a far away problem affecting far away countries. However, issues of inequality, poverty, and vulnerability cross international and state lines.
Come learn what modern day slavery looks like in our community and how you can do your part to end human trafficking.
Samantha Searls is a program manager at the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center (IJPC). IJPC educates and advocates for peace, challenges unjust local, national and global systems and promotes the creation of a non-violent society. Samantha’s work focuses on the issues of human trafficking and immigration. Samantha has her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and has spent the last few years as a community organizer working on environmental, economic and social justice issues both in St. Louis and in Cincinnati.
