Meet Emily!

The Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation is happy to welcome its new Executive Director. Please join us for a dinner-style meet and greet, and get to know her!

A native Cincinnatian, Emily Sheckels Ahouse has been back in the region since 2015 most recently serving as Preservation and Planning Specialist for the City of Covington. In Covington she was responsible for the administration of the City’s Historic Preservation Program, including historic preservation permitting, staffing the City’s Urban Design Review Board, and the City’s small area study community planning efforts. She was the City liaison to the NKY Public Arts Network and served on the Board and as Chair of the Design Committee for Renaissance Covington, a Main Street America program. After graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. in Design and Environmental Analysis and M.A. in Historic Preservation Planning, Emily started her career in South Florida first as a consultant for Janus Research then as Historic Preservationist for the City of Coral Gables.
