African American Engagement Workgroup Community Conversations: Drug Use and Treatment Services
November 13 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
Project Goal-Address the questions:
“What do African American individuals know about addiction, especially in relation to opioid use?” and
“Why are African American individuals underutilizing available substance abuse treatment/assistance in their communities?”
The African American Engagement Workgroup is seeking the input of African American individuals in these communities to hear their perspectives on these questions.
The AAEW is planning to facilitate community conversations, after generating a community survey in five of the “Overdose Hotspots” in the city.
Areas being surveyed are: Queensgate/City West, Bond Hill, Millvale, English Woods and Walnut Hills.
The AAEW is hoping to connect with local agencies, churches, and social service organizations located in these 5 areas to hold 5 community conversations.
